fitfool (who has an interesting blog that talks a lot about food) created a livejournal feed for my farmshare blog, so you can add it to follow my blog on your friends page, should that be more convenient for you:

Farm share blog
In the interest of blogging something that generally cheers me up, I created a blog about my farm share. Yay! It is action packed...every week a new vegetable or meat.

lo how a rose e're blooming
Today is the day it took me nearly 8 hours to drive home in the snow. Today I drank much of a very nice bottle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. Elena made baked ziti with sausage, squash soup in the big pot that *she* didn't want, popcorn from the husk, yay farm!, and a flourless chocolate cake.

Let me describe the stages of the cab we drank tonight:
1. Hello! I'm here! I will make everything wonderful!
2. And as I flow down your palette, I fulfil you!
3. And I leave a sweet aftertaste, for such a meaty wine! Have another sip!

When you have had a very bad day, I think that you need to start back at the bottom of the spiritual pyramid and just eat the best food you can find. Then you can go back to depriving yourself for the good of the universe.

Today, bottle of wine, tomorrow, more math homework.

Elena and I, we try so hard, but we get so depressed. Why is that? Who are the happy folk? I think that, perhaps, our lives are better than those of 99% of the world. Perhaps we are spoilt. Spoilt by the goodness of the earth, and some hope to do goodness for the earth. It is the crushed daily hope on which we dwell. Layna does more good than me, and is yet more crushed.

Dear God, grant me a better sense of humor and the ability to be less annoying to the people whom I love.

I can think of no better way to end my hiatus from live journal with this link.

I am in an incredibly bad mood and have been for a couple days, and now our heat appears to be broken. Blargh.

Our heat is broken. It is SO COLD. A guy came and said it was fixed, and that it would go on in 15 minutes. Alas, it was not true.

Alas is one of my favorite words that I am trying to save from antiquity.

The heat guy is not coming for 45 minutes.

Speaking of saving people from antiquity, we need to start campaigning for people to procreate with more redheads. Our people are going to die out in 100 years, some say. I actually think that is utter crap. As long as people find redheads attractive, red hair genes should be kicking around. Anyway, save red hair.

If I'm trying to save a trait, is that a form of -ism? (Racism, fascism, etc.?) Or is it just nostalgia or red head pride? Pride goeth before the fall, they say.

It's SO COLD!!

Does this make sense? Is this dad's influence?
What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

The Northeast
The South
The Midland
North Central
The West

Now, how would you feel if you saw a picture of yourself in one of these, 18 years later? Your parents would have to explain Homestarrunner to you. Do you think that the parents of the future will be less mature than the parents of today? Then again, my grandma always made fun of my grandpa's stoopid mustache he grew for their wedding at age 21 (and could barely do it!). Some things may never change.

Icon contest!
Because Liz is too lazy to make her own icons, it's time for the Make Liz a New Icon contest. Rules very open. It can be based on any subject, preferably one Liz likes. Prize is open too. Winners include icons that Liz actually uses, and a small prize, just as tailored as the icon, will be sent to winner's house. No stealing of icons from other sources and pretending you made it.

There was this hike I was going to go on, but it turns out it's very difficult, and might not be appropriate. I know that oochie, layna, and I think Jill went on a hike where there was a mountain that had a lake on it with a whirlpool, so it looked like a big toilet. Can someone tell me where it is or what it's called? Preferably before 8am Saturday April 29. Yeah short notice, I know...but if you see this, please leave a post! THANKS!!

I would like to point out that wikipedia has an extremely up-to-date entry for Strong Bad:

I would also like to point out that it took me an hour to go a 20 minute drive this evening getting home.

And that I went to Italy last week. That was exciting. And warm. In NYC when I got home it was snowing. In Italy, all the Italian girls were wearing very little during the day, but they were all wearing coats at the slightest breeze. So me and my coat fit in. I do have pics that I have yet to upload. I think that first I must clean the house though. It is a debacle.
